The Real Cost of Fast Fashion

The Real Cost of Fast Fashion is an awareness campaign intended to call attention to the serious and easily overlooked consequences of an industry, driven by profit, to capture current fashion trends that flow directly from the catwalk to fashion retailers to consumers, for purchase as quickly and cheaply as possible, multiple times a year.

The campaign is organized into four main components and aims to shed light on the ’thread’ that binds workers in poor countries (with no governmental oversight or regulation) to powerful companies motivated by profit:

  1. Fast Fashion
  2. Implications for Garment Workers
  3. Environmental consequences
  4. Retailers
